January 26-30 "Bay Area Pit Fix," Spay/Neuter Your Pit Bull or Pit Mix for FREE," Marin Humane Society, 171 Bel Marin Keys, Novato. The Marin Humane Society will spay and neuter pit bulls and pit bull mixes of Marin residents for FREE from Monday to Friday, January 26 to 30, as part of the Bay Area Pit Fix. Several shelters around the Bay Area (East Bay SPCA, Berkeley Humane, ARF, Peninsula Humane, Sonoma Humane, SFSPCA and Contra Costa County Animal Services) are currently taking appointments for the free surgeries. Because of overbreeding and careless breeding, the pit bull population is increasing at a time when other breeds’ numbers are under control. There are numerous benefits to fixing your pittie: Spayed and neutered pit bulls are generally healthier, are less likely to run away, exhibit less aggression toward other dogs, and won't contribute to the tragic pit bull overpopulation problem. Call 415.506.6268 to schedule an appointment.
